Introduction¶
These chapters address tasks related to the design of technical infrastructure. Gemini Terrain is flexible and is used in many types of projects – from residential areas and commercial developments to road, water/sewage, and transport infrastructure. A residential area may, for example, include a variety of buildings, from single-family homes and row houses to larger apartment blocks and terraced houses. Designing in hilly terrain often presents challenges that require thorough 3D modeling, and we therefore emphasize three-dimensional design and the creation of discipline models.
Discipline models should contain 3D objects that describe the planned situation for a specific discipline, such as roads. These models include only designed data and can be used for staking out and machine control.

Mass Calculation
In a project, there are often several objects (roads, intersections, and excavations) for which you can generate separate mass reports. To get an overview of the total mass balance, you can use the Summary report... function found in the toolbox.
